On October 18, 2001 Funhog placed the Oaks Bottom letterbox at Oaks
Bottom Wildlife Refuge in the City of Portland, Multnomah County,
Oregon. This is another of those urban greenspaces that make Portland
such a wonderful city. The trail is very popular with joggers, dog
walkers, birdwatchers, bikers and hikers. Look both ways before
recovering or stashing the box. There just might be someone watching!
To the trailhead:
On the east side of the Willamette River head south on Martin Luther
King Boulevard/99E. Take the Milwaukie Avenue/Westmoreland exit. The
parking area is on the right just past the stop sign. The trail goes
down the hill. Keep left.
To the letterbox:
Go past Big Bird, not yellow but blue.
Up ahead a bench waits for you.
Walk over the bridge and take a seat.
The stamp you seek is near your feet.
Once you move some bark and rocks,
You will see the letterbox.
Happy Trails
